MARYROSE WEATHERTON, PH.D.
About
Hello! I'm Maryrose. I am currently an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow working at the University of New Hampshire. I will begin as an Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University in the Fall of 2025.
I received my bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Marquette University and my Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
I am a discipline-based education researcher and my research seeks to explore variation in which resources students use in their programs and what drives their decision-making processes. The overall goal of my research is to leverage this variation to improve equity in STEM higher education.

Our scholarship is inherently informed by who we are as people. Before starting my Ph.D., I was an informal science educator for four years. I am a first-generation college student, an avid gardener, and an okay rock climber and skier. I relish traveling, and have been to 11 different countries in the past seven years.
